FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

*What do I need with me when coming to sauna?

Bring a swimsuit, towel and, if desired, swimming shoes/slippers, a peflet and soaps. The saunas in Rauhaniemi are mixed saunas, i.e. all sauna-goers are in the same sauna, so we use swimwear inside the saunas. We do not use saunas in underwear for hygiene reasons. You can also buy all the necessary accessories for sauna bathing from the Rauhaniemi ticket office. You can also get hot and cold refreshments and snacks on site. In the sauna area there is an electric grill where you can also grill sausages. At the ticket office, you can buy local Lihajaloste sausage for grilling.

*First time in sauna?

Please note that in sauna you will sweat a lot, so it’s important to hydrate! Please shower/wash up before going into the saunaroom, so it stays cleaner to all users. Also please  leave bottles and cans outside from the saunaroom, you can find lockers outside, right next to sauna doors where you can store your saunadrinks.  Sauna is for relaxing and enjoying so please also take into account other sauna-goers: gentle talking, no shouting and friendly manners.

*Is the sauna shift booked in advance?

You do not need to book a sauna shift in advance, you can come to Rauhaniemi according to your own schedules when the saunas are open. Sometimes we are popular and only take a certain number of sauna-goers to the sauna at a time, so please prepared possible to wait for your turn to get in. Groups of more than 10 people are kindly requested to arrive in two or more smaller groups, for example, in a staggered manner so that public saunashifts are not congested by bigger individual groups. Did you know that you can also rent Rauhaniemi sauna facilities privately for your own group outside opening hours? More information about private shifts can be found on the website under “services” and “saunas”.

*How long can I use the sauna with one ticket, i.e. is there a limit to sauna time?

We recommend that the sauna time be 1.5 hours per visitor. This way, as many people willing, can fit on the sauna benches.

*Can I buy Rauhaniemi sauna tickets in advance?

The Rauhaniemi online store (www.rauhaniemi.net) sells serial cards and gift cards at slightly lower prices. Individual sauna tickets are purchased locally from the Rauhaniemi ticket office.

*I have a student (or unemployed or retired) card, but the online store does not show discounted prices for 10x serial cards?

The voucher entitling you to discounts will be displayed at the Rauhaniemi ticket office and the staff will mark your discount entitlement in our system in your profile. After this, when logged in with 10 x serial cards, the discounted price will be displayed in the online store. The right to a pensioner is usually permanent, but the right to study and unemployment is temporary, so the system automatically removes the entry from these two within a certain period of time. Therefore, if you are still entitled to the discount and the discounted prices have disappeared from your profile in the online store, please show your valid discount right again at Rauhaniemi ticket sales. With a pensioner, student and unemployment certificate, you get 10x serial cards at a slightly lower price. 30x and 50x serial cards and one-time payment are the same price for everyone. Ticket options and prices can be found on the website under “About us” and and “prices” and under “services” and “saunas”.

*I lost my access token/black tag and there are still visits left on my serial card. What should I do?

Don’t worry if your access token/tag is lost! Notify the Rauhaniemi ticket office and your information and remaining visits will be transferred to the new (4,50€) access token/tag.

*My serial card is about to expire and I still have visits left? Is it possible to get an extension of the validity period?

10x serial cards are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase and 30x and 50x serial cards are valid for 2 years from the date of purchase, i.e. there is plenty of time to use the cards when the saunas are open every day of the year. For this reason, it is only because of illness, i.e. with a sick leave certificate prescribed by a doctor, that we have given extra time for serial cards. You can contact us in matters related to the extension period of serial cards by e-mail to info@rauhaniemi.net address. As a tip, you can also pay your serial card for friends to go to the sauna if you don’t have time to use the sauna yourself.

*Is the serial card personal? Can I use it to pay friends for the sauna?

The access token/tag to which the serial card is loaded is registered with the information of one person, but of course you can also pay for sauna sessions with your own serial card. If you wish, you can also upload more than one serial card to your access token/tag. Each card is displayed on a separate line on the stamping device, so please note to use the cards in chronological order.
